Sir,

With reference to your Secret 2 despatch of

19th November, 1935, on the subject of the desire of the Air

Ministry to obtain possession of an aerodrome site at Pat

Heung in the New Territories, I have the honour to inform

you that this site comprises approximately three hundred

acres, of which less than twenty acres is Crown Land.

2.

Following demi-official negotiations the

Colonial Goverment informed the Air Authorities in Hong Kong

that, subject to your approval, it was prepared to recommend

transfer to the Air Ministry of the Pat Heung aerodrome site

upon the following main conditions :-

Coly LH.K.

(a) No premium to be charged.

(b)

Cost of resumption of privately owned land to be

borne by the Air Ministry.

(c) Cost of forming the site, drainage, etc., to be

borne by the Air Ministry.

(d) The Air Ministry to pay consolidated Crown Rent

(twenty-five years purchase) in respect both of

resumed private lots and of Crown Land.

(e) Access Road. As the proposed Access Road coincided

with Goverment schemes for future road extension

and as upon completion it was to be made available
